I have a pretty severe technology impediment. I’m a Xennial - that really small group between Gen X and millennials, and the last generation that had a childhood without the internet. I am self aware enough to realise that I am the equivalent of the boomer using 2 hands to hold and press the TV remote. And it holds no interest for me to really learn about technology. I know my gifts are elsewhere.
This is one area that I absolutely need to outsource. It is not worth the stress of me attempting to set up anything myself - phones, computers, substack… - with the amount of fixing required by my husband. I would be silly not to outsource this because there is a much better use of my time.
Health on the other hand, is not something that I believe we can outsource. We can, of course, seek guidance from a professional, learn from others, and utilise options for treatment that we might need support with. But no one else is capable of healing you.
Within you is an innate intelligence that governs how we grow, heal and reproduce. Its default setting is for growth and healing, but we set up so many ways for this to be interrupted with the stresses in our life. These can be physical, chemical or emotional. Our goal with health needs to shift from ‘fixing’ to ‘getting out of your own way’ and letting the brilliance of your innate intelligence do what it needs to.
We can have our preconceived ideas of what healing looks like, but when we leave it up to the magic of the universe there is actually even more available to us! I learned this as a Chiropractor. People would come in because they had a sore neck, and within a short while the depression that they were experiencing lifted. This was not why they originally came, but when their body was in alignment, the conditions were set for them to heal, then their innate intelligence was free to provide all the healing that they needed.
Or when a parent brings a child in because they weren’t pooing well - that might change, but also the child sleeps better, they start hitting their milestones, the child finally starts to smile and connect with them, and the whole family is now getting along better. Here we have ended up at a place so much more beautiful than we ever expected when we just wanted the child to poo, because the universe has bigger plans!
Somewhere along the road people thought that they knew better than this universal intelligence that is capable of creating life. That if we just added a chemical/supplement/medication/vitamin that this would fix us. And that the professionals and the machines know more about our own body than we do.
Health professionals do know a lot, and there is a place for them to support you on this journey, but regularly they are the driver, not the support.
What I want for you is
to help you get to know how your own body and mind work
to give you the support to look within to find answers
to trust your innate intelligence
to be responsible for your choices
to view health and the body without fear
I don’t really want to be the hero that comes to solve your problems. I want you to be that hero. I want to be a way-shower, a mirror and your cheerleader!
I see that everyone is one their own journey, and that we have each been given our own set of circumstances and experiences to learn, heal and grow in this lifetime. So what better way to heal ourselves than utilising our own everyday life, and the environment around us.
How much were you forced to grow or heal when you got in a relationship, or had a baby, or started a business? There are opportunities all around us to heal old wounds, and change our patterns. You are invited to look inside for your own answers, listen to your own inner wisdom, and allow your innate superpowers to heal you.
The outer work then involves things like being supported when you need it, setting the conditions to be able to heal - like a calm nervous system and eating well - finding purpose, and making (sometimes hard) choices or difficult conversations.
That is how we heal. And because the universe is so wise and abundant - when you heal you, you are doing your part of healing the collective because you can’t even fix anyone else! They have to do it.
So hang around if you’d like me to be your cheerleader. I’ll share my experience and GNM perspectives, along with Social Brain dynamics and relationships.
One day I may even choose to grow and heal my tech aversion - I’m sure that this would teach me a lot about myself - but not today.
